Legzira Beach in short
Legzira Beach lies on the Atlantic coast between Mirleft and Sidi Ifni, about 10 km north of Sidi Ifni. Red cliffs frame a wide sandy beach, and a natural stone arch stands in the surf. One of the arches collapsed in September 2016, so the old photos with a double arch show a coast that no longer looks like that. Today there is one remaining arch.
Your visit depends on three things: the tide, the steep walk down from the car park, and the road. This page explains each, and it compares ways to get there. Prices are the ones listed for 2026, and they change.

Our picks: Legzira tours
All three start in the Agadir area, not at Legzira, and all include lunch and hotel pickup. The private trip adds Aglou and Mirleft with a guide for your party only, while the two shared trips go to Legzira and Tiznit.

Legzira arch: what you can see today
One arch, a wide beach and red cliffs.
The remaining arch is still the reason most people come. Photographs of a double arch are older than the collapse of 2016, and erosion is a possible cause. Do not expect two arches. Do not walk under the arch or climb on the rock, and keep your distance from the cliffs, because rock can fall from overhangs.
Wet sand at low tide can mirror the arch. Bring a camera, but keep an eye on the water and the cliffs while you take photos.
Tides and the walk along the beach
Parts of the beach at the foot of the cliffs can be impassable at high tide, and the way back can be cut off. Low tide lets you walk to the arch, but low water does not make the cliffs or waves safe. There is no fixed safe window, so check a tide table on the day and ask locally. If the water is rising, turn back early.

Getting to Legzira Beach
Four ways to reach the arch.
| Option | How it works | Price in 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Rental car from Agadir | N1 to Tiznit, then the coast road through Mirleft. Some narrow stretches and damaged road surface. | โ |
| Day trip from Agadir | Legzira and Tiznit, daily, start 08:15. Pickup, vehicle, guide and lunch included, drinks not. Sidi Ifni is not a named stop. About 9 to 10 hours. | โฌ65 adults, โฌ30 children aged 1 to 15 |
| Two-day tour from Agadir | Tiznit, Legzira, Sidi Ifni and El Borj. Camp night and the meals described are included, drinks not. | โฌ175 per adult |
| Stay in Sidi Ifni | Legzira is about 10 km north. Go at low tide and allow time on the beach. | โ |
For most visitors based in Agadir, the day trip is the simplest way, and it avoids the coast road. If you want a slow morning on the beach timed to the tide, base yourself in Sidi Ifni. A trip with a Legzira stop does not always include the town, so check the route. See also the Agadir tours page, and for the tours that start in Agadir, the guide to excursions from Agadir.
On the ground: stairs, parking and swimming
The practical points before you walk down.
The descent
The way from the car park to the sand is steep, so do not expect a step-free route. Works have closed the stairs and car park at times, so ask on the spot what is open and do not take an unmarked shortcut.
Parking and fees
There is a car park near the top, and fees vary. Ask on arrival about any charge or guide, and do not assume entry is free. Keep small cash in dirhams (MAD).
The road
The coast road is narrow in places and its surface is damaged in stretches. A plan to improve the link to the beach exists, so expect roadworks. Avoid driving it at night.
Getting there โSwimming
Treat Legzira as a beach for walking and looking first. Currents, waves and tides can be strong, and only watched areas are a sensible place to swim.
Beach safety โNearby, the Mirleft coast has bays and surf, and coastal fog can hide the view on some mornings.
Legzira Beach: frequently asked questions
Are there still two arches at Legzira?
No. One arch fell in September 2016, and one remains. Old photos of a double arch show the coast as it was before.
Can I walk under the Legzira arch?
Do not. Rock can fall from the overhangs, and waves and tide add risk. Enjoy the arch from the sand at a distance.
When is low tide at Legzira?
It changes every day, so check a tide table on the day and ask locally. Low tide is needed to pass along the cliff foot, and it is not a guarantee of safety.
How far is Legzira from Sidi Ifni?
About 10 km north along the coast. It sits between Mirleft and Sidi Ifni.
Is there an entrance fee or a guide I must book?
Ask at the car park. Parking can cost money and the amount varies, so keep small cash in dirhams, and do not assume entry is free.
Is this site official?
No. This is an independent travel guide, with no link to the town, the beach operators or any tour company.
